Notes Married:
- Amanda VanHook, daughter of Samuel VanHook and Isabella Cox was born about 1818 in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
Amanda married Noah Bishop 22 February 1838 in Pulaski County [marriage
bonds, book 1, page 17]. The surety on the bond was Samuel VanHook
(probably Amanda's father). Amanda Bishop is named in the settlement of her
father's estate in 1873 [Pulaski Co., Ky. Deeds, volume 27, page 296]. Her
husband is not mentioned there, so he had probably died by then.
There is a Noah Bishop buried in the Higgins cemetery in Pulaski Co., off
Bull Road, between highway 27 and Science Hill. His stone shows he was born
24 November 1809 and died 28 September 1851. There is also an Isabel Bishop
buried there (b. 31 July 1843, d. 6 October 1863) that may be a daughter of
Noah and Amanda's, named for her grandmother.
