      From 1884 onwards, Ephraim Neavill appears in the California Voters Rolls in Los Angeles County - apparently he had gone there to live with his daughters, while his wife Catherine moved to Missouri to live with her son Franklin Heaton.

      Ephraim Neavill served in Dowling's Company of Illinois Volunteers during the Black Hawk (Indian) War. His widow Catherine filed for his pension 11 Jun 1894.
