      Hila VanHook of Colorado Springs, CO, elected secretary of the freshman class

      Hila VanHook became a newspaper reporter. In 1925, she worked for the Daily Capital in Topeka, KS.
      On 21 Mar 1956, in the Press Scimitar of Memphis, TN, she wrote a long obituary of Col. M.R. Meals.

      In the late 1920's she married Lillard McGee, who was the sports editor for the paper in Topeka.

      Hila died in 1974 while living with her son Michael in Alaska.
