    Married:
    • Josiah first wife was Elizabeth Collier or Colyer they were married July 16, 1854 in Shullsburg, Lafayette County, Wisconsin and divorced October 25, 1860 in Shullsburg, Lafayette County, Wisconsin for cruelty, non-support and unusual non-human treatment.

Josiah and Elizabeth had 2 children - Susan and Josiah. No additional information on Susan. Josiah appears with his mother's second husband and family under the name Josiah Hill in the 1870 census (his mother had married Silas Hill). Believe Josiah to use the name VanHook as an adult, appearing in South Dakota to claim land in the 1880's. Believe he died in Charles Mix, South Dakota, on 26 November 1905 - and is buried in Spokane, WA.
