- KOHNLE John Edward. Beloved husband of Sherri Kohnle. Devoted father of Thomas (Sharon) Kohnle, Nancy Nodler, Robert Kohnle, John Kohnle, Kristin Kohnle, Brian (Jena) Kohnle, Brandi (Mark) Schuermann, and the late James Kohnle. Also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. WWII Marine Corps. Veteran and was awarded a Bronze and Silver Star for combat in the South Pacific. Three Term President of the Dayton Philharmonic and Co-Founder of Dayton Public Radio. John passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at the age of 86 years. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 4, 2009 starting at 12 Noon. At 2 PM, there will be a celebration of his life. Both services will be held at the Norman Chapel at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Ave., 45232 (513-853-1035). Immediately following the services, there will be a reception at the Gwen Mooney Funeral Home Reception Center. Interment at Woodland Cemetery & Arboretum (Dayton, OH).
